When Kids Don’t Understand Puja Yet | PujaZen

PujaZen

Many children grow up watching their parents perform puja — the lamp, the flowers, the chanting — without really knowing what any of it means. They participate because they are asked to, they observe because it is part of the household rhythm, but the meaning stays just out of reach.

This is completely normal. Understanding comes with time, repetition, and the right conversations at the right moments. The goal at this stage is not comprehension — it is familiarity. A child who has grown up seeing puja done with care will find it much easier to connect with its meaning later, even if right now they are just watching.

This video captures that lighthearted reality with warmth, and it is a good reminder that you do not need your children to understand everything immediately. Showing up together, consistently, is the practice.
